Stonewall Adventure Club is celebrating Pride month the best way we know how - outside! We'll be hiking an 8.7-mile loop that starts and ends at the Big Slacks overlook. We will start at Big Slacks, proceed along Torrey Ridge, down to Sherando Lake and back up to Big Slacks Overlook on the White Rock Gap Trail. This hike involves a 1,500 feet elevation gain, making this a moderate hike. We estimate this hike may range from 4-6 hours (depending on how fast the group moves and how long we stop for lunch!) plus 1.5 hours of driving each way.

Hikers will meet at the Hickory Haven Park and Ride at 7:30 am on Saturday June 24, 2023; be on the lookout for the Stonewall Adventure Club flag! Please consult this handy guide on what to bring. Hike leaders will carry first aid kits.

This event costs $15, to account for gas money for the drivers. During registration, you will be asked whether you would like to volunteer to drive. Those who do end up driving will be asked to carry 3 people in their car and will be reimbursed $40 for gas money. All registrants will also be prompted whether you would like to add on a donation to our wonderful beneficiaries (URGC; He, She, Ze and We; VAVP) or our Player Support Fund to help include everyone, regardless of finances.
