Beneficiary: Side by Side
Please bring: Ample supply of water, change of clothing (as needed), tennis racket, back-up racket (optional), and food/snacks. (Tennis balls, light snacks, awards, and a medical supply kit to be provided.)
All SINGLES (4/24) and Doubles (4/25) registrants should plan for a 9am or 10am first match.
We are planning for a 1-2pm lunch break before quarterfinal or final play at 2pm.
Please note: As we have opted to include a doubles bracket this season, there will be no singles consolation bracket. Players are guaranteed two matches if they register for both singles and doubles.
In the case that one of the tournament days is impacted by weather, we are holding Saturday, May 1, 2021 as a make up date.
Registration: Registration will run from Friday, April 9 - Thursday, April 22, with priority given to participants of the Spring 2021 Tennis Club Season. Non-Member Registration will be based on the availability of spots within the tournament.
The Tennis Club committee will divide participating members into brackets by ability - utilizing pre-season self-evaluations and current challenge ladder results. Non-members will self-identify their skill level and must attest that their self-ranking is accurate. Failure to provide an accurate self-ranking may constitute removal from the tournament bracket. In the event of an unfair assessment requiring removal, no refund shall be provided. Tennis Club members will receive their seed number according to the current challenge ladder standings, with non-members coming in at lower seeds.
Due to the grueling nature of a one-day tennis tournament, all games will be played via an 8 game "pro set". The winner of each match shall be the first individual or team to win 8 games by a margin of two games. A 12-point tie-break is played when the score is 8-8.
