WELCOME TO STONEWALL SPORTS RICHMOND SUMMER 2021BOWLING REMIX

COVID-19 Safety Measures: In accordance with CDC guidelines, players that are fully vaccinated, defined as two weeks beyond the second shot of Pfizer or Moderna or single shot of Johnson & Johnson, will not be required to wear a mask. Players who are not fully vaccinated MUST wear a mask for their own safety and the safety of others.

REMIX Format: This season of bowling will utilize the REMIX format. REMIX encourages players to talk to different teams and players and build a deeper sense of community within Stonewall Sports Richmond. Unlike most of our sport leagues, a REMIX assigns ALL players to teams at random (through a draw). However, a player may register with one additional player in a Small Group.

Dates/Times: The season will consist of six (6) weeks of matches on July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, and August 26 from 7:00pm until 9:30pm.

Match Structure & Scoring: Each week, two teams will be matched together for socially competitive play. One match will consist of three (3) separate games. Teams must have four (4) members present to bowl. Four (4) players from a team will bowl in each game and players may not bowl again until all teammates have bowled once that evening. Each team will record the players name and scores for each game on the provided scoresheet. Both captains shall sign and submit the scoresheet to the designated board member(s) at the end of the night. For each game played, the team with the highest score will be awarded one (1) point. Tie games result in both teams being awarded one (1) point. The team with the most points wins the match. If the match ends in a tie, the tie will be broken on pin count totals. If a team does not have at least four (4) players, the match will end in a forfeit and the opposing team will be awarded the win and three (3) game points. Teams are still encouraged to and should scrimmage and socialize. Standing will be updated weekly in LeagueApps or by Google spreadsheet.

The ranking will be as follows:

  1. Matches won
  2. Head-to-Head
  3. Points scored against
  4. Overall pin count total

Facility: All matches will be played at Bowlero Richmond (formerly AMF Sunset Lanes) located at 6540 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230. Food and beverages are available as sold by Bowlero Richmond. No outside food or beverage is permitted.

League Description: This season will have no more than 16 teams and 128 players, with no more or less than 7 - 8 players per team. Teams are required to have at least four players each week to play a recorded match. All players must be 21 years or older by the first game day.

Post-Game Activities: Given the social nature of bowling, there will be no official post-game social sanctioned by Stonewall Sports Richmond. We encourage players to join us on Sundays following volleyball. Sunday post game social location and time to be announced via email and social media.

Fundraising: Our spring season beneficiary will be Diversity Richmond. Monies raised throughout the summer season through league and any team fundraising endeavors will be distributed back to this organization to support the amazing work they do to assist the LGBTQ+ community. Any individuals or teams that would like to host a fundraising/volunteering event should reach out to our Community Director, Marquis Mapp, richmond.community@stonewallsports.org. Additional information about future fundraisers and volunteer opportunities will be advertised via league-wide emails and on social media (Facebook and Instagram).

Code of Conduct of Stonewall Sports Richmond: Stonewall Sports Richmond is committed to the ideals of diversity and inclusion. We believe that every person has the right to feel safe and comfortable being themselves while engaged in organized athletics. As such, we are committed to providing an experience that affirms the dignity and value of all individuals without regard to age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religious or spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, socioeconomic status, physical or mental abilities, size, appearance, or any other basis for exclusion. Please see our website for our full code of conduct.

Alcohol Policy: Public drunkenness will not be tolerated. In the interest of everyone¢??s safety, if a player is deemed to be excessively drunk, they will be removed from gameplay at the discretion of Bowlero staff or present board members. Additional consequences may be assessed either by the Stonewall Richmond leadership board or by Bowlero. Please do NOT drink and drive - carpooling is encouraged!

Registration Cost: $35 per player, plus a $3 registration fee, which includes your Stonewall Sports Bowling | Richmond T-Shirt (See registration information below).

Fee Waiver: The fee waiver is designed to offer individuals experiencing financial hardship the opportunity to become a member of the Stonewall Sports Richmond community at a discounted and/or waived fee. Click here to access the fee waiver application.

Registration Information: Registration for the Summer 2021 season will begin on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 12:00am and will close on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 11:59pm or until sold out. This season is limited to 16 teams of 128 players. Registration will be first come, first served.

Captains: As this is a REMIX season, players will be asked to express interest in becoming a Team Captain during registration. There will be a need for one captain per team. In the event that more than sixteen individuals express interest in captaining a REMIX team, captains shall be selected at random. Although captaining REMIX is a lighter lift than some of our larger team sports, we ask that any prospective Captains be available to attend most, if not all, matches and that they serve as a point of contact between the Sports Director and team players. Captains shall become voting members of the league for one calendar year upon completion of the season. For more information about becoming a Team Captain, please contact Bartley Mullin, Operations Director, at richmond.operations@stonewallsports.org.

Divisions: There are no divisions for REMIX. All play shall be considered social.

End of Season Banquet & Awards: Location and date to be announced. Banquet and awards shall run in conjunction with Summer Sand Volleyball. Each team shall select a Team MVP and one captain shall be selected as Captain MVP. One Todd Clark Spirit of Stonewall Award and/or Rookie of the Season Award recipient may be selected based on community nominations.

*Additional events may be added throughout the season. Please join us on Tuesdays from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the Starr Hill Happy Hours for Stonewall Sports Richmond.
