Come join Adventure Club as we set sail (uh, tube) down the James River with Riverside Outfitters! This outing is limited to 20 people, first come first served, so sign up SOON! Meet at Pony Pasture parking area at 10:30 AM on Saturday August 26. The shuttle, provided by Riverside Outfitters, will depart at 11 AM (folks are strongly encouraged to arrive early, as parking can be challenging on summer weekends) to the Huguenot Flatwater parking area. Here, staff will review the route and furnish participants with a tube and river map.

There is only one Class II whitewater section at the end…the rest is flatwater with varying current speeds at different water levels. About halfway through the route is the William’s Island Dam (Z-Dam), a low bulkhead dam that participants will need to portage around. There is a marked trail on Williams Island that is used by participants to walk around the dam that will be pointed out by staff during the shuttle ride. Please only register for this activity if you feel comfortable with this level of risk and able to engage in this level of physical activity. Participants will need to deflate their tubes and return them to Riverside Outfitters at the end of the trip. This is easily done as they are located just up the hill from where the outing ends (address is 6836 Old Westham Rd.). More information about the float can be found here.

* Park policy is that alcohol is prohibited on the river. All drinks should be in cans or plastic containers…No glass please!

* People’s biggest regret is getting dehydrated and sunburned. So, do yourself a favor and pack ample water and sunscreen.

* Likewise, leave all towels, change of clothes, etc. in your car and have a plan for car keys and phones—there is NO storage for them.

Registration for this event is $38. During registration, you will also be asked if you would like to add on a donation to our Player Support Fund (which needs funds!) and/or to our 2023 Beneficiaries. There is also a new and exciting Adventure Club t-shirt available to add on to your registration! Show your support for RVA Stonewall Adventure Club with this new swag! Lastly, all registered participants will be emailed a waiver from Riverside Outfitters closer to the event date.
